Pisces have rampant imaginations, strong intuitions (and gut feelings!) and dream high. They operate from their heart, often with self-less and self-sacrificing qualities with a desire for unity in their life and world. Pisces long for connection and can be hurt when things don’t pan out how their rose-coloured glasses perceived things. Pisces are innocent, sensitive, and compassionate souls always leading with an open heart and their heart displayed on their sleeve. They are drawn to water and will often be found taking long showers or baths or near water on their days off. You will never find a bored Pisces, being interested in a wide range of things, they use their imagination to go off into la-la land (head in the clouds) and their intelligence to solve complex problems. A negative trait is their ease in which they can become distracted and something they’ll need to safe guard against. Being the twelfth and final sign in the zodiac, Pisces are said to take a little from each sign, making them emphatic and very tolerant of others. Perhaps their best trait is their ability to find beauty in all situations, quickly adaptable to both good and bad.

The Pisces constellation is viewed as a distant pair of fishes connected by one cord. “Pisces” is the Latin word for “Fishes” and appears as a dim zodiac constellation between Aquarius and Aries. It is one of the earliest zodiac signs on record, with the two fish appearing as far back as 2300 BC on an Egyptian coffin lid.
Pisces is associated with the Greek legend where Aphrodite and her son Eros either shape-shifted into forms of fishes to escape or were rescued by two fishes.
In the Greek version according to Hyginus, Aphrodite and Eros while visiting Syria, fled from the monster Typhon by leaping into the Euphrates River and transforming into fishes. The Roman variant of the story has Venus and Cupid (counterparts for Aphrodite and Eros) carried away from this danger on the backs of two fishes. There is also a somewhat different origin tale that Hyginus preserved in another work. According to this, an egg rolled into the Euphrates, and some fishes nudged the egg to shore, after which the doves sat on the egg until Aphrodite (thereafter called the Syrian Goddess) hatched out of it. The fishes were then rewarded by being placed in the skies as a constellation. (source)
