ART PROMPTS: WEEKLY CREATIVE CHALLENGE /12

Art Prompts

Do you want to be making more art?

Are you ready to join a fun art challenge?

Art prompts is here to kick start and unblock your creativity, with one prompt and one constraint to get you back creating and having fun. The creative prompt is there for a starting point with the idea to approach the challenge freely. It’s aimed at artists but is open to any creatives (musicians, writers, makers) the more the merrier. I’ll post new prompts via my insta (@spirityou) or through my newsletter (sign up at bottom of this page). I encourage everyone to share their creations using the hashtag #syartprompts

I can’t wait to connect and see what you come up with 🙂

Let’s all inspire each other to create better art!

Prompt /12: From the Cupboard

Pick a packaged item from your cupboard (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, wherever) and create some art!

CONSTRAINT: Pointillism

To keep things fun try and draw your packaging using the Pointillism technique which uses small dots of colour – originally developed by Goerges Seurat and Paul Signac in 1886 (wiki).

My EXAMPLE

I grabbed out some markers and had a very relaxing half an hour dotting away.  I employed a heavier pattern of dots for the darker tones and eased up when wanting to show lighter values. I’d say when picking your own packaging to be aware of an excessive amount of font (hard!) or perhaps scale up your drawing to make showing all the details easier.

Your next step is to go forth and create, then share it via insta using the #syartprompts tag.
New prompts are sent out via my newsletter (which you can sign up for below)
