Fiona Harding/Spirit You

Harding is an interdisciplinary Australian artist based in Namba/Nambour. A reverence for nature, alongside the aim to translate its living presence, is a core theme throughout a largely autobiographical practice. Spanning various mediums including, painting, installation, sculpture, costume, and video performance, her work often involves labour-intensive processes and personal iconography to further imbue the self within her practice. Singular, stylised subject matter and simple compositions are employed visually as entry points to layered concepts. Current exploration includes psychedelic themes, mortality, spirit, the unseen, and the cyclical nature of life.
Acknowledgment of the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi People as the original owners and continuous stewards of the land. With a practice heavily informed by place, it’s a privilege to create work responsive to the natural surroundings.
