2nd Space
In August 2022 I joined the creative co-working at 2nd Space (an initiative of ArtsCoast – Spaces for Creatives program by Sunshine Coast Council). Working in a shared studio space came with a bunch of unknowns alongside the hope that it would allow me to stay connected to my local creative community.
A year and a bit on, I can say with conviction, it’s been an incredible, enriching experience.
2nd space is a building in Nambour that consists of three large (previous dance) halls, a maker’s space, office and amenities. It’s also home to a bunch of pot plants, hot hot summer days, and a revolving door of amazing creatives via the Project 24 residency and other art initiatives. The motto of 2nd space is to provide a “curated space for artists and creatives to connect, collaborate and cause commotion.”
I’ve formed friendships, grown, experimented, and been inspired to push my own creativity outside its limiting barriers.

I’m utterly appreciative that spaces and opportunities like 2nd Space exist for artists. It only exists because of a very supportive council and an amazing team at ArtsCoast.
